"For my final evening in Italy, I chose to dine at Frades Porto Cervo - Milano, a Sardinian gem that proved a sublime farewell. From the moment I arrived, the atmosphere enveloped me—the gentle music, warm lighting, and elegant decor created a setting both refined and inviting. The service was impeccable: gracious, attentive, and sincere. I opted for the land-based tasting menu, laced generously with freshly shaved truffles—each course a delicate, earthy revelation. The flavours were vibrant yet balanced, capturing the soul of Sardinian cuisine with finesse and flair. As I savoured the last bite, a thought took root: I must go to Sardinia. This meal didn’t just satisfy—it inspired. A perfect, poetic end to an unforgettable journey."

"As red prawns and Sardinian food lovers, we specifically booked this restaurant for our first dinner in this four days Milan family trip. The red prawn dish was absolutely delicious. We also ordered sea urchins pasta, lambs, pork, all were amazing. The interior of the restaurant is detailed with elegant Sardinian styles and elements, modern and smart casual. The service was also very professional with personal touch made us feel very welcomed. We would definitely love to go back again."

"I wanted to like this restaurant. The ambiance is pleasant, modern, calm, and paired with genuinely attentive service. Unfortunately, the kitchen doesn’t always live up to the room, and the experience ends up being uneven. The lobster pasta was the first disappointment. There was not a single discernible piece of lobster in the dish. Perhaps the sauce was made from shells and meat, but if so, calling it “lobster pasta” feels misleading. I sent it back and wouldn’t recommend ordering it. Its replacement, a tuna tartare, was a pleasant surprise: creative, well-balanced. Then came the suckling pig, which sadly undid that goodwill. What arrived was essentially a slab of fat topped with thick, uncuttable skin that was meant to be crispy but wasn’t. The meat itself offered little reward, and I found myself eating mostly the garnish, which was ironically the best part of the plate. I couldn’t help thinking the chef might benefit from a study trip to Segovia, where crackling skin and tender, juicy meat are non-negotiable. I was told this is a Sardinian specialty and I’m sure it is, when done well. But if the dish is aimed at a broader audience, some adaptation or refinement is needed when serving a slab of fat. Tradition alone doesn’t excuse poor execution."

"We were recommended to dine at Frades during our visit to Milan. From beginning to end, our experience was amazing. Mike was our waiter and greeted us pleasantly. He was highly informative and personable and gave us the history of Sardinian cuisine. He also made great wine recommendations. The cheese and meat board came with honey, jam, and 3 selections of meat and cheese ; all were exquisite! For dinner, I chose from the 'Of the Sea' menu, and my husband chose 'Of the land' menu. It was incredible! Everything presented to us was visually pleasing as well as delicious. We will definitely visit again to dine on our next stay in Milan."

"Such a beautiful place with very friendly staff. The food is incredible. It's a fancy restaurant and definitely worth the price. I've fallen in love with the baccala with black garlic sauce and spinach. Also the tacos with shrimp and red shrimp were very good. The mullet sandwich is also very interesting to try! Definitely will come back."

"We were fortunate to have the opportunity to eat at one of the finest restaurants in the world. From our arrival through our departure we were treated to the most delicious food and treated like we were royalty. Our maitre d' was a charismatic wealth of knowledge regarding every detail of the restaurant and food. We chose a fixed price menu "The Sea" and we were delighted with each of the courses. The first was an artistic presentation of a tuna tartare wrapped with cucumber and celery slivers punctuated with delicious and crunchy panzanella. The freshness and pureness of the flavors were a wonderful start. The second dish was a rockfish soup, but the broth was really a richly flavored bisque with lots of lobster flavor mixed with the shellfish meat accompanying the fish. Mixed with a delightful small pasta this was a masterpiece. The final dish was a super fresh cod cooked to perfection in a potato and clam purée. We also sampled two side dishes, both of which were fabulous. We enjoyed the grilled porcini mushrooms only because of a "faux foie gras" made of mushrooms. The eggplant was nearly as delicious. We completed the meal with a mango and mint sorbet which included ripe mango chunks! Our server was efficient, professional and let us enjoy the food without any interference from his responsibilities. The recent renovation of the building shows nicely with an upbeat modern feel, yet quiet enough for easy conversation. At about 100 euros a person, I felt it was an extraordinary value. I believe this restaurant will enjoy great success in the future!"

"We made a reservation a few days before coming, the music was a bit loud, the service was great really attentive for our dietary intolerance/issues, have great recommendations due to these problematic dietary restrictions, a variety of different wines (local and foreign), great Sardinian beer, there are 3 types of menus (fixed fish menu, fixed meat menu and a regular menu), the seafood soup was really surprising (highly recommend it) and the lamb was amazing."
